Hey, hey! It’s Thursday and tomorrow is my last full day of work before two whole freakin’ weeks off for my wedding and honeymoon! Sunny days ahead.

There’s not much I want to cover today, but you can bet I’ve got a lot to share tomorrow for my Big Monday Travel Content List (name is WIP).

First, I want you to watch the new (and last!!) trailer for the final season of Succession. I woke up today and watched it three times before breakfast.

Then, let’s talk about Meghan Trainor’s ruthless pursuit of the TikTok algorithm.

You know Meghan Trainor: famous for 2014’s American tragedy “All About That Bass”, and most recently “Made You Look”.

And you know TikTok: a place where songs often have the opportunity to blow up. As a result, more artists are making songs specifically for people on TikTok to dance to and use in their videos. However, the artists would never say that.

Maybe Meghan should. Maybe she should admit it.

How else could a song like this exist?

It’s called “Mother”—you know, like the term the youth, the gays, and the gay youth use right now to describe a celebrity woman who they want to adopt them. A celebrity woman who is chic, badass, beautiful, and iconic in every way. Think Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, Rihanna.

Is Meghan Trainor… of the belief that she’s in this category? Has anyone ever forced themselves into the category quite like this?

And oh my god, the beat. It’s so bad. It was made for 14-year-olds to dance to on TikTok, one hundred percent. Meghan wants those algorithm plays more than anyone in the biz right now.

Save yourselves, retail workers. This will be playing nonstop in TJ Maxx for the next thirteen years.

That’s all for today. Big edition of Content Consumed tomorrow, though! See you then.

Love,
Casey
